The original work of the icon of Santo Stefano is kept in the Santo Stefano Monastery in Meteora (14th-15th century).
Santo Stefano was one of the most illustrious deacons; he had a strong faith and the charisma of eloquence. He has performed many miracles with the power of his Christian faith. He dedicated his life to preaching the gospel and philanthropy. Although he was stoned to death by the Jews, he asked God for their forgiveness.
